The Home of Swamp Gravy, Georgia’s Folk Life Play
The theme is
The Power of the Creative Spirit to Reclaim a Possible Future.
There will be two exciting tracks:
- Resiliency Through the Art of Story Telling
- The Art of Social Change
Dr. Jean Houston has been invited to be the keynote speaker. According to Dr. Houston, Colquitt, GA is a Renaissance town – where the “Creative Class” meets for inspiration.
You will meet people from all over the United States, who are passionate about their communities: community theatre and arts advocates, community organizers, funders, artists, as well as students.
Under the tutelage of Dr. Richard Geer you will participate in the Art of Storytelling and an evening Cabaret. One participant stated, “Richard Geer alone is worth the trip to Colquitt.”
You will also participate in the The Art of Social Change lead by international trainer in Social Artistry, Jan Sanders.
A special highlight will be a performance of Swamp Gravy: Brothers and Sisters, during the Thursday evening opening ceremonies on January 30.
