Social Artistry™ is a new model for leadership that is building leadership capacities for change all over the world. It is at work at all levels of leadership, across cultures and continents, in developed and least developed countries, inspiring and moving people to deepen their individual capacities to create a world that works for everyone. We invite you to join us in contributing to lasting, positive change in our world now and for generations to come.

ALERT:  Your Help is Needed

Dear Social Artists,

We were saddened by the news that a devastating 7.8 magnitude earthquake has struck Nepal. There has been widespread damage in the Kathmandu valley and the death toll is climbing rapidly.

Close to 100 aftershocks and also subsequent quakes.  There is an urgent need for medical care for survivors, as well as food, clothing, and emergency shelters, and a number of first responder organizations are there, and much more is needed.

Read message from Ishu, a Nepal colleague HERE.

As many of you know, through the Jean Houston Foundation our social artistry community helps train leaders and support a team of Nepali leaders who are doing community building and nation building work in Nepal everyday.  Some of you have been part of the training teams that have gone to Nepal beginning in 2004.  Janet Sanders heads those teams, and has gone a number of times to Nepal on her own.  Thanks to Janet’s monitoring, we know that at least 2/3 of the social artistry community in Nepal are safe, and we hope to hear from others soon.

Our colleagues in Nepal (once they have secured the safety of their own families and basic needs) can focus on a particular part of the population that is known as “differently-abled.”  Our Nepali colleagues have been doing training in that network and people will especially need assistance during this time.  There is a differently-abled network of over 19 different groups.

In your desire to help victims and survivors of this awful disaster, you may donate through the Jean Houston Foundation to send a message to our colleagues in Nepal that we are with them in their time of need.

In sadness and hope,
Peggy Dean, Director
